Sleepy Village
Poem · by Kian · Class 6 · Northstar School, Raipur
The sun goes down, the cows come in,…
The sun goes down, the cows come in,
The village settles, quiet as a pin.
Smoke curls from the chimney tops,
The night insects begin their hops.
The crickets sing, the owl wakes,
The moon comes out on silver lakes.
The village sleeps, the stars shine through,
Good night, sleepy village, good night to you.
