Stars Are Lanterns
Poem · by Meera · Class 2 · Lotus Valley School, Kochi
When the sun says "Good night" and goes to bed,…
When the sun says "Good night" and goes to bed,
The stars light lanterns above my head.
One for Papa, one for Mum,
One for the baby, thumb in mouth, hum.
The Moon is a boat on a dark blue sea,
It rocks the clouds and sings to me.
I count the lanterns, one, two, three,
And dream of the stars that dream of me.
