The Elephant Never Forgets?

Edulin Children’s News · Week of 12 April 2026

Elephants have remarkable memories.

Elephants have remarkable memories. An old female, the matriarch, remembers the path to water holes and can recognise hundreds of other elephants. They can also recognise human voices. Their big brains are the largest of any land animal. In India, elephants are loved and protected. Please never feed or tease wild elephants, and keep a safe distance.

Reported by Ayaan, Class 8, Banyan Tree School, Indore (young reporter).
